Our Unique Birthday Book Party - Means Books for You, the Guests OR a Charity!
How it works
In all of our child birthday party idea options, guests do not bring a gift but instead purchase books at your party. You will choose who these books will be for.
Your choices are books for your child, books for the guests themselves, or books for a charity of your chioce. In addition to books purchased, free books are earned based on the gross
total of the orders made. You also get to choose what to do with the additional free books! (See party idea options below for more clarification).

Why do a Book Birthday Bash?
A friend came to me with a dilema one day. She had just returned from a birthday party attended by her 3 year old son.
She was overwhelmed at the extravagance of the party and all the gifts the toddler had received. She told me, "The whole class was invited!
What will I do when it is time for his party? I would like to invite the
whole class, but I honestly do NOT want all those gifts in my house! Toddlers don't need all those gifts!"
That is where our child birthday party idea comes in. Have a Birthday Book Bash! We give you a choice
to celebrate in different ways without loading up the house with too many toys!

Why do this child birthday party idea, the Book Birthday Bash?
(... continued from above)
In all our Child Birthday Party Idea options the children do not bring gifts but instead a small amount of spending cash. The only real decision you
have to make is to decide which option you would like to try. Please discuss this with older children and "tween" age children. Toddlers will most likely have their parents
there who can assits.
In the case of my friend's toddler mentioned above, I would recommend she choose the Build a Child's Library option and choose a
wide range of books to be used by her toddler over the next few years. Or she could choose the Build the Guests' Library option, let each guest take a
book home, and she would still receive some free books for her toddler based on sales. And, she can still celebrate at the party by opening a the family gifts
thus, ringing true to "traditional present opening" that toddlers expect. You only need to open a few gifts to satisfy toddlers.
After all, how many toddlers are really paying attention after gift number 4 or 5 is opened?
Birthday parties with a large attendance are very popular these days. When we lived in Texas, if you invited one tween in the class with an invitation, you
had to invite the entire class of children! This can be a little overwhelming and makes one realize how affluent the world has really become (not to mention how affluent the
school thinks we parents have become!). In Mexico, I watched a child fly his homemade kite made from a paper plate, string, and
a twisted plastic bag for the kite's tail. I couldn't help thinking about how happy he was with his one "toy".
If you find that each birthday means "WORK!" Each birthday means finding space for new items and a trip to goodwill with the old, maybe it is time to try
our child birthday party idea.
Our unique child birthday idea Options Build the Guests' Library and Build a Charity Library work especially well for a tween birthday party
idea because they are unique, almost every tween will LOVE to shop (even if it is for someone else) so they have lots of fun browsing the catalog
and choose how they will be spending the money they brought, and it teaches the value of giving to charity
(or the value of giving back to your guests.) We also recommend these two
options as a tween birthday party idea because a tween will have the maturity to understand the gift of giving. It is very important that your child
understand this birthday party idea so there are no unexpected surprises or tears on the special day.
